Principal's Message

July 2017

Welcome Confluence Academy-Old North Families,

Welcome to a new year at Confluence Academy-Old North! My name is Syreeta R. Holland, and I’m the new principal. Over the summer, our faculty and staff worked diligently to make Old North clean and bright for your children to learn in a safe and welcoming environment. I’m looking forward to the day when the doors open for the new school year so I can welcome all of the students and their families and become part of the Old North family. The staff is very enthusiastic and dedicated to meeting the individual needs of all of our students.

At Old North, the parents, teachers, and support staff are all part of a unified family, working hard to ensure the safety and well-being of all children. We are focused on providing every student with a challenging and rewarding educational experience. With that in mind, you’re invited to be an active participant at Old North. Whether you’re a classroom volunteer, a member of the Parent-Teacher Organization, if you attend special events, or if you’re an active member of one of our school communities, you are encouraged to be involved!

Research clearly demonstrates that parent participation in their child’s school coincides with a greater likelihood of academic success. As parents, you play an integral role in the education of your child. Your involvement in your child’s education will help her achieve more success and have a positive outlook on school. Please be sure to read the newsletters and calendars that are available on our website. Get to know your child’s teacher and stay informed on classroom and school events. Visitors are always welcome at Old North. I encourage you to stop in. When you visit, please enter through the main doors and get a visitor's pass in the office.

I am truly excited to join Confluence Academy-Old North. I’m thrilled to share the enthusiasm of a new school year with you and your child. I would love the opportunity to meet you, so please stop by the main office to introduce yourself. Building a strong home-to-school partnership is important to me, and it’s vital to your child's successful educational journey. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me or speak to your child’s classroom teacher - (314) 241-1110.

Thank you for entrusting us to nurture, encourage, challenge and enjoy your precious ones as we embark on the 2017-2018 school year!
